1.) Name: Amanda

2.) Age: 18

3.) How long have you been a Harry Potter fan? Six years? I think that's right. Ever since I read the first book.

4.) What was your overall impression of the Harry Potter films? They're good, I suppose, but sorely lacking in the info that will come up later.

5.) What elements in the films (SS, CoS, PoA) did you dislike the most? It's quite the list. The Dementors are so not how I pictured them. The purebloods don't wear muggle clothes to Hogsmeade. Harry has green eyes. Gary Oldman and David Thewlis, while excellent actors, are far too old to play Sirius and Remus! And that new guy who played Dumbledore in PoA and GoF is just off. Richard Harris was so much better. The new one looks like a hippy. The Firebolt arrived at Christmas in third year, not in June. Harry spent weeks in the Leaky Cauldron in PoA, not days. The Shrieking Shack scene is missing parts that explain rather important things about the Marauders. Sirius was a barbequed head in GoF! That firecall was messed up. And Mrs. Weasley wasn't even in the film! PoA was missing a lot of the scenes that I love in the book. And GoF... Well, it was missing so many things. Bagman, the backstory of Crouch's fall in the Ministry, Weasley's Wizard Wheezes, and the end was really hurried. To me the worst was a lack of Padfoot, but he's one of my favorite characters so I might be overplaying that one. Ron and Harry's fight was just... wrong. It didn't have the same effect as the one in the book. Same with Ron and Hermione's fight at the Yule Ball. And Harry's dress robes were extremely ugly. And this is really, really nitpicky, but they didn't use the same lines during the rebirthing potion in the movie as they did in the book. And the merpeople can speak underwater. What was up with that, anyway? And the lack of characters in the maze... That was wrong. What in the world is so challenging about hedges? 'You can lose yourself' -- bah! Very lame, IMO.

Some of the stuff in the movies helped me visualize the books better, though. The Death Eater masks--for some reason I couldn't get past those cheap little Halloween ghoul masks, so the freaky skull ones in GoF clarified the thought in my head. The Dark Mark in the sky was different than how I imagined it, but better than in the books. The arm tattoos were a bit too large IMO, but whatever. Small detail.

The one thing that bugs me the most would be that kid (see the icon in this post) in PoA. Who the hell is he? He seems like he's just there to give out bad news. I can't think of a Gryffindor that fits him. It's not Dean or Seamus, so yeah.

6.) If you met Steve Kloves (the script writer) on the street, what would you do/say to him? Well first I'd be like 'Wow, a famous person!' because I'm totally like that. Then I'd catch myself and ask him why, if he was going to change so many things in the movies, he didn't have Sirius and Remus kiss or something in PoA.

And quite ironically I've seen the movies zillions of times, even with how much I complain about them. Drives my friends crazy because I'll be mumbling things while the movies are playing. :)
